Haemhorrage Control in Combat Situations
The Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) is a small and lightweight one-handed tourniquet that completely occludes arterial blood flow of an extremity in the event of a traumatic wound with significant haemorrhage.True circumferential pressure is provided to the extremity via the windlass system with a free moving internal band that the CAT incorporates. Once tightened, the windlass is locked in place when bleading has ceased.The CAT also has a Velcro Windlass Strap for further securing of the windlass during patient transport.

The Russell Chest Seal® is a hydrogel-based dressing with an integral low-profile, four apertures, valve. The base material of the chest seal is a hydrogel matrix, which comprises a water-containing gel, mounted onto a non-woven fabric with silicon coated release liners.
The Russell Chest Seal® is used to cover penetrating chest wounds, and the valve mechanism allows air to escape from the pleural cavity without being drawn back in. This aims to minimise lunge collapse associated with this injury and to facilitate lung re-inflation. The device will remain adhered over many hours and is comfortable for the patient in prolonged use (up to 24 hours).

An innovative new hemostat designed to bond with specific sites which are present on the surface of red blood cells and platelets to make a gel like clot /plug. This process is totally different from the body’s normal clotting mechanisms. Anticoagulants such as heparin and warfarin (often sold as Coumadin) can interfere with the body’s normal clotting process. They often delay blood clotting times. Hyperthermia is also well known to delay clotting. As Celox™ works independently of the normal clotting process, its clotting ability is not affected by the presence of anticoagulants or by cold temperature. Laboratory testing has confirmed that Celox™ quickly clots blood containing heparin or warfarin (Coumadin). It has also shown that Celox™ also quickly clots blood which has been cooled to simulate hypothermia.

The Prometheus Blast Bandage allows you to quickly package traumatic amputations, burns and large pattern wounds with minimal effort. It provides a 50cm x 50cm treatment area, but packs to 10cm x 10cm.
The large non-adherent wound pad can be easily wrapped around limbs and secured with the attached elastic wrap. It provides a large sterile protective covering for shrapnel wounds or burns. The emergency trauma bandage also offers a removable occlusive layer that will cover a 48cm x 48cm area or can be used to cover abdominal contents minimising the loss of heat and moisture.
Velcro Control strips prevent the elastic roll from accidentally unravelling and secure the bandage throughout the application process. By providing multiple points of adhesion, the brakes prevent slippage of the elastic during the wrapping process. This creates a more secure, effective bandage and decreases the chance of the wound being exposed during movement.
